"One out of 100": Putin says how many scientific developments go into production

The interaction between science, education and business should be improved, the president believes

The level of commercialization of scientific developments in the country leaves much to be desired. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the SPIEF-2025. He called for improving interaction between science, education and business.

Unfortunately, today the level of the so-called commercialization of inventions of the scientific, university environment is low. Thus, among small innovative enterprises created by universities and scientific organizations, only 1 invention out of 100 reaches a practical result.

The head of the Russian Federation called this situation "absolutely insufficient." He called for creating conditions so that scientific ideas and developments find their application in the real economy.

Putin also stated that the state will support new Russian brands. He called the development of the intellectual property market important. The head of the Russian Federation added that 77 thousand brands were registered in the country last year.
