Tor-M2 air defense system confirmed the possibility of intercepting Grad MLRS shells

In 10 minutes, the air defense system crew managed to shoot down eight targets

The Russian Tor-M2 air defense missile system (SAM) confirmed its ability to intercept 122-mm 9M22U rockets of the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). The commander of the Tor-M2 crew with the call sign Sevan said that the soldiers managed to shoot down eight targets in 10 minutes.

We destroyed eight targets in 10 minutes. We captured four targets. We can launch missiles with an interval of two seconds. We destroyed four, we take another group of four targets, and that's how we destroy them.

Already in motion, the antenna of the complex begins to scan the sky - which means that the anti-aircraft missile system is ready for operation. "Tor" can work on air targets right on the move.

The detection radar has a range of more than 30 km for targets with an effective reflecting surface (ERS) of 5 sq. m and 10 km for targets with an ERS of 0.07 sq. m.

The complex instantly determines the type and affiliation of the object and is capable of simultaneously tracking up to ten targets. The 9M338K missile with a speed of Mach 3.1 is launched and accelerates to about 1000 m/sec and hits the target with a cloud of fragments.
