Footage of a module of the Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM) placed on a high-rise farm tower has appeared online.
The geolocation of the complex and the height of the tower are not exactly known.
Placing the Pantsir-S1 at a height of 25-30 m helps the RLM SOC circular view radar detector and the 1RS-3E target tracking and guidance radars become more efficient.
In this position, the SAM system receives a 35% greater radio horizon range - 45 km instead of 30 in relation to objects flying at altitudes of 35 meters. In addition, the Pantsir-S1 will be able to intercept low-altitude targets over complex forest landscapes.
Characteristics of the Pantsir-S1 SAM system using the example of hitting an aircraft with an effective scattering area of 2 m² and a flight speed of 300 m/s:
- Missile weapons in range — 1200-20000 m, in height — 15-15000 m
- Cannon armament in range — 200-4000 m, in height — 0-3000 m
- Number of simultaneously fired targets — 4
- Maximum speed of targets hit — 1000 m/s
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Admiral Grigorovich frigate, carrier of Kalibr and Onyx missiles, arrived in Algeria.
