Советский ЗРК С-200 оказался главным барьером для американских F-35: собьёт за 300 км

The system is capable of detecting aircraft at a distance of up to 600 km

The Soviet S-200D long-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) still remains in service with a number of countries. The system is capable of confidently destroying even American fifth-generation F-35 fighters.

S-200 SAM

The S-200 is valued for its range of over 300 km, its ability to detect large aircraft at a distance of up to 600 km, and to track targets such as ballistic missiles at altitudes up to 45 km.

The V-880 missiles used by the SAM system can not only cover particularly long distances, but also carry large warheads weighing more than 200 kg and hit targets at altitudes up to 40 km.

For example, in Iran, the S-200 has undergone a major upgrade aimed at eliminating the system's main drawback - insufficient mobility. Now they can use new Sayyad 2 and Sayyad 3 missiles, created on the basis of the V-880.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the new patrol ship "Kholmsk" was launched.
