Serial production of critical components for the machine tool industry, developed taking into account modern technological requirements, has started in Chelyabinsk. According to the Industrial Development Fund (IDF), engineers have not only reproduced foreign analogues, but also improved their characteristics, creating more reliable and accurate solutions.
The company "RTS", with the support of the regional IDF (preferential loan under the "Import Substitution" program), has begun production of housings for cutting inserts, high-precision boring bars and specialized machine tool tooling. A pilot batch has already been tested at the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant and received a positive conclusion.
The launch of serial production of new products will allow large domestic holdings to meet the needs for scarce components and eliminate dependence on imports.
Currently, Russian enterprises purchase about 90% of such components abroad. However, by 2028, RTS plans to increase the production of tooling from 400 to 4,000 units per year.
