A unique five-section tram model 71-665, manufactured at the Ust-Katav Wagon-Building Plant (UKVZ), has been delivered to Yekaterinburg.
This is the first such long car in Russia, named "80 Years of Victory." It is currently undergoing final assembly and will be on city streets in a month.
The tram is equipped with two cabs, allowing it to operate in a shuttle mode without turning loops. The cabin can accommodate up to 406 passengers, so it is planned to run it on one of the busiest routes. Comfort is ensured by maintaining the temperature in the driver's cab and passenger compartment, as well as a screen with useful information for passengers.
The five-section tram is scheduled to be tested during the "INNOPROM" exhibition from July 7 to 10. Previously, Yekaterinburg already operated a three-section tram "Kastor" from UKVZ, purchased in 2024. Recently, the city purchased another 15 of these cars for the Akademichesky district.
