Multiple entry electronic visas for foreigners may be introduced in Russia

The period of stay on them will be increased to 30 days

Russia is planning a change in the rules for using electronic visas for foreign citizens. Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that the period of stay on an electronic visa could be increased from 16 to 30 days. In addition, the possibility of their multiple use is being considered.

Currently, 64 countries have access to electronic visas, and the new proposal aims to simplify entry into Russia for tourists. Reshetnikov said that the decision will be worked out jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Border Service.

There is also a request for multiple use of electronic visas. This is the next step that we will work out and propose together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Border Service.

The minister also mentioned the development of visa-free group tourist exchanges, in particular with Vietnam and India, which are considered promising markets. Tourists from these countries will be able to visit Russia without hindrance, provided that they purchase a tour from a reliable operator.

In April 2025, Russia signed an agreement on the abolition of visas with Oman, and future plans include expanding visa-free entry for citizens of Jordan, Myanmar and other countries in the Middle East and Asia.

Over the past year and a half, more than 2 million foreign tourists have visited Russia using electronic visas and visa-free travel, which underscores the growing interest in the country as a tourist destination.
