Yandex has launched sales of a smart IP camera for home video surveillance. It can be used to monitor an apartment or a country house. The device streams video with sound in real time and saves recordings to an SD card. If the camera detects movement or the presence of a person, it sends a push notification.
The IP camera is easy to integrate into a smart home system. To do this, simply add it to the "House with Alice" application and connect to Wi-Fi. You can watch the broadcast from the camera on your phone, on the TV Station or Station Duo Max. Just say "Alice, show video from the camera" and it will display the image on the screen.
The camera also works in smart home scenarios. For example, you can set up automatic shutdown of the air conditioner and turn on the camera with the command "Alice, we're gone." To quickly receive information about events in the house, you can set up push notifications about the appearance of a person in the frame, noise, or movement.
The camera shoots in resolutions up to 2K QHD, providing image clarity even on a large screen. It has a viewing angle of 103 degrees and a swivel mechanism of 350 degrees, which allows you to cover all corners of the room. In the dark, the camera automatically switches to night mode, guaranteeing high-quality shooting even in poor lighting conditions.
Videos from the camera can not only be watched, but also saved to an SD card or to the cloud. Cloud storage is available by subscription to additional IP camera functions. With the "Standard" plan, you can store recordings in the cloud for up to seven days, configure zones without motion detection, and activate the function of tracking a person in the frame. The "Extra" subscription also includes sending photos from home when motion or a person is detected, as well as storing recordings for up to 30 days.
The camera can be easily turned off via the application or by voice. Just say: "Alice, turn on privacy mode" or "Alice, turn off the camera." You can also set up a scenario, for example, so that the camera automatically turns off at 19:00 or responds to the phrase "Alice, I'm home." There is a "Mute" button on the device's case, similar to the one on Yandex Stations. When pressed, the camera will turn away the lens and turn off the microphone.
Earlier, the Yandex team announced a major update to the software for its Yandex Station Duo Max smart speaker. The device now runs on the new YaOS X operating system. It offers an improved interface that is ideal for watching videos and controlling a smart home.
