Average price of used cars in Russia has fallen

The cost of domestic and Chinese used cars no older than 15 years decreased by 3% in May

In May, the average cost of used domestic and Chinese cars up to 15 years old in Russia decreased by 3% compared to last year. Now these cars cost an average of 703 thousand and 2.17 million rubles, respectively, according to the press service of the "Auto.ru Valuation" service.

The average cost of used domestic and Chinese cars decreased the least when comparing May 2025 to May 2024 – by only 3% each, reaching 703 thousand rubles for Russian brands and 2.17 million rubles for Chinese brands.

The average cost of used cars of American brands decreased by 9% year-on-year. Cars from Europe, Japan and South Korea fell in price by an average of 6% in May. The Novosibirsk region became the leader among the regions in terms of the decrease in the average cost in May.

The price of used cars in this region decreased by 4.5%, to 2 million rubles. In the Ryazan region, the drop was 4%, the average cost is 1 million rubles. In the Primorsky Territory, the price fell by 3.5% and reached 2.4 million rubles. The top five are closed by the Vologda region, where the decrease was 3%, to 1.27 million rubles, and the Smolensk region with the same decrease — to 1.18 million rubles.

Earlier it became known that Lada Largus was again in the top of sales: according to the Avtostat agency, 653 cars of this model were sold in the 23rd week of 2025, which allowed it to take fifth place in the ranking. This is the first such success since November 2024. The absolute leader remains Lada Granta (3074 cars), followed by Vesta (1667), Haval Jolion (1045) and Changan Uni-S (806).
