The European Commission will present the 18th package of sanctions against Russia. It will include a proposal to ban the use of the infrastructure of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. This was reported by the British newspaper Financial Times.
The new package will also include a reduction in the price cap on Russian oil from $60 to $45 per barrel. The European Commission also plans to impose sanctions against several Russian banks and ships associated with the Russian Federation.
The package also provides for "security measures" for Belgium, which should protect the country from possible lawsuits from Moscow. Earlier, the Belgian authorities froze the assets of the Central Bank of Russia in the amount of about 190 billion euros.
It should be reminded that the 17th package of sanctions against Russia was approved on May 20 and affected 189 ships, as well as 75 individuals and legal entities, including companies such as Surgutneftegaz, VSK Insurance Company, and Atlas Mining gold mining company.
Earlier www1.ru reported that an American investor offered to buy Nord Stream 2 from Germany and resume its operation.
