AvtoVAZ has registered the rights to the trade name Astera with the Federal Institute of Industrial Property. There is a possibility that this is the name of the new Lada model, which is scheduled to premiere on June 18 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Previously, the company had already registered several names, such as Darus, Azimut, and Merida. Astera could be one of the contenders for the name of the future crossover. The list of potential options also includes XTour and XRave, which better fit the SUV concept.
It is possible that the manufacturer will choose a name that is not on this list, as the company regularly registers various trademarks, some of which are used, while others remain inactive.
As for the crossover itself, details about its design and technical characteristics have not yet been disclosed. It is expected that the brand will present the final design and officially announce the name of the new SUV at the public premiere on June 18 in St. Petersburg.
