The Irkutsk Aviation Plant intends to produce 72 MC-21 aircraft annually. This was announced by the executive director of the industry agency "AviaPort," Oleg Panteleev.
The current production program in Irkutsk more than meets the needs of Russian airlines, and entering the foreign market is unlikely in the current environment.
According to him, it is theoretically possible to deploy another aircraft construction program in Kazan, but Panteleev cannot imagine why additional MC-21 production might be needed.
The MC-21 aircraft was certified in 2021, but since then the aircraft has been undergoing import substitution. Now the manufacturer, Yakovlev, promises to begin deliveries in 2026.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that new Su-75 and Su-57 fighters, MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft will not be shown at the 2025 air show
