The production of anti-lock braking system (ABS) units and electronic stabilization systems (ESP) is planned to be launched at the FSUE "NAMI" site in Samara by the end of 2025. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Vasily Shpak.
ABS and ESP systems are key elements of active vehicle safety. ABS prevents wheel lockup during braking, while ESP corrects the trajectory of movement, which helps to avoid skidding.
Mass production of ESP stabilization systems has already started at the Pegas electromechanical plant in Kostroma. It was launched in early 2024 with plans to produce 850 thousand units annually.
In September 2024, preparations for the production of ABS and ESC also began at the former Bosch plant in Samara ("NAMI Innovative Components"). In April 2025, the Samara enterprise will fully resume the production of ABS, ESP and steering systems for manufacturers such as AvtoVAZ and UAZ.
