Битопливные Lada Largus CNG: технологический прорыв или скрытые риски

The new Lada Largus CNG offers a record range and modern technologies

Car dealers have started selling bi-fuel modifications of Lada Largus, running on gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG). The manufacturer claims a range of up to 1000 km without refueling, and the cylinders are now located under the floor, freeing up space in the cabin. The top-end Enjoy configuration includes heated seats, parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and cruise control.

However, experts draw attention to several technological aspects. Firstly, fuel savings depend on market gas prices, which are not regulated by the state. Secondly, the design is more complex, which may affect the cost of maintenance. Another important point is safety. CNG cylinders are designed for a pressure of 200-250 atmospheres, which is 10 times higher than that of propane-butane systems. Although the manufacturer assures their reliability (including protective covers), insurance companies may revise rates for such cars.
