«Pobeda» Lost: Court Declares Airline's Hand Luggage Restrictions Illegal

The court's decision has not yet entered into force

The Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow ruled that the airline "Pobeda" abused the right to determine the dimensions of hand luggage. Passengers were presented with illegal requirements that effectively prohibited them from taking items on board.

The size of hand luggage was reduced to a width of only 4 cm. This made it impossible to carry many personal items of passengers (garment bags, folding wheelchairs, handbags and backpacks).

"Pobeda" divided the baggage allowance into two options - one with very narrow hand luggage (4×36×30 cm). The second is more spacious (36×30×27 cm), which, according to the carrier, is chosen by 99% of passengers.

The prosecutor's office has not yet specified what consequences "Pobeda" may face. The airline company stated that there are no restrictions on the carriage of items, and the court decision has not yet entered into legal force.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Aeroflot will give all its Boeing 737 aircraft to Pobeda.
