The Evolute brand is preparing to launch small-scale assembly of cars in Russia, according to Vasily Chebotarev, head of special projects at Motorinvest.
According to him, localized production, including welding and painting of bodies, will begin in the Lipetsk region in the summer of 2025. In parallel, Evolute electric vehicles are already undergoing tests of motor-reducers, drive technology, and traction batteries produced by the Russian company "SAE".
Earlier, company representatives announced their intention to increase the level of localization, in particular, by equipping the i-Joy crossover with a domestic engine and transmission. This will not only reduce dependence on foreign components, but also reduce the cost of cars.
The Russian Evolute model range includes the i-Pro electric sedan, i-Joy, i-Jet, and i-Sky crossovers, the i-Space hybrid SUV, and the i-Van minivan. All models are licensed versions of Chinese Dongfeng cars.
