A complex for growing crayfish and shrimp has opened in the Rostov region at the Vzmorje aquaculture scientific center. This was reported by the Azov-Black Sea branch of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation "All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography".
The scientific and production complex with a closed water supply system will enable specialists from the Azov-Black Sea branch to grow juvenile shrimp and crayfish under controlled conditions.
The study, aimed at breeding these crustaceans, will help determine the most effective method of growing them in the southern regions of Russia. At the Vzmorje center, juveniles can be bred both in artificial conditions and in natural water bodies.
Earlier, scientists developed a special class of organometallic compounds that can be used for continuous temperature measurement of living organisms. The technology was tested on aquarium fish.
