Dozens of times cheaper than the Verba MANPADS: Russia has developed a new interceptor for Lyuty and Baba Yaga drones

VOG-17 and VOG-25 are used as a fragmentation warhead in the complex

The Russian company VEKTOP conducted another successful field test of a promising small-sized anti-drone man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) designed to intercept FPV copters, quadcopters and hexacopters such as Baba Yaga, as well as more massive Darts and An-196 Lyuty kamikaze UAVs.

A small-sized guided anti-aircraft missile with an IR homing sensor is placed in a 3D-printed transport and launch tube, with a flight speed of up to 450 km/h (0.4M) and an interception range of up to 2000 m.

At the same time, small-sized fragmentation warheads, including VOG-17 and VOG-25, can be used as a warhead. The effective radius of destruction by a fragmentation field can reach 7-10 m.

With the cost of the complex being dozens of times lower than that of the Verba MANPADS, we can say that the product may in the future enter service with almost every assault detachment of the Russian army to cover soldiers from the decapitating strikes of enemy FPV drones.
