Only 17% of domestic car factories have ceased operations

Domestic car factories continue to operate, despite the departure of Western car brands from the Russian market. Only 17% of factories have closed, while 88% are assembling cars in 2025. The research was conducted by the "Romir" holding.

According to "Romir", 22% of factories have retained their former owners, updating their model lines, while 17% remained under Russian control and began cooperation with foreign partners. Another 17% of enterprises were transferred to auto holdings specializing in sales and service.

The transformations have strengthened the presence of domestic manufacturers and allowed for greater independence of the Russian automotive industry.

In addition, 13% of factories changed their legal status or became part of domestic car manufacturers. Another 13% were transferred to state control.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Ural automobile plant will launch a new assembly building.
