An unusual request from AvtoVAZ was discovered in the official database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS). It concerns the registration of the Lada Azimut brand, and the application itself has been given partially confidential status.
In the database, it is marked as "not subject to publication in accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1209 of September 2, 2024." This indicates that a significant portion of the project data and information about the participant are not disclosed.
In the context of international restrictions, this practice is becoming increasingly popular. Companies are trying not to disclose the technical characteristics and names of new models at an early stage, fearing the impact of sanctions on their foreign partners.
In the case of the application for Lada Azimut, it could be a new SUV or even a model for expeditions, developed with the participation of Chinese manufacturers. The name Azimut is directly related to orientation and direction of movement, which indirectly indicates the possible off-road focus of the car.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ Patented a Bumper and Grille for the New Lada Niva Travel in the Style of BMW.
