KamAZ is gradually replacing K3 series trucks with models from the K5 family. This was announced by a company representative at an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory.
The first to be discontinued is the K3 series dump truck KamAZ-6520 with a 6x4 wheel arrangement. The model will be replaced by modern versions of the K5 family, which have already been launched into "series" production. However, trucks with K3 cabs will remain on the assembly line at least until 2028.
KamAZ has completed the import substitution process for KamAZ-6595 dump trucks, which are offered with various wheel arrangements — 6x4, 6x6 and 8x4, as well as with platforms of different volumes. These new vehicles will displace the KamAZ-6520 and its modifications.
The bestseller KamAZ-43118, despite belonging to the K3 line, will remain in production for the time being, as the all-wheel drive model has no equivalent replacement. The same applies to specialized K3 transport for state orders, which also remains without alternatives.
Earlier www1.ru reported that KamAZ sued the Ministry of Industry and Trade for almost 390 million rubles.
