The Russian government will allocate 500 billion rubles for the development of shipbuilding

A significant part of the budget will be used within the framework of a new national project

In the next six years, the Russian government will allocate 500 billion rubles to support manufacturers and customers of ships and components for the domestic fleet. According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin, this is a record amount of funding for the industry.

According to him, in the context of external sanctions, increasing and updating the domestic fleet has become crucial for the transportation of goods along the Northern Sea Route, building logistics routes to friendly countries, and developing river tourism and navigation along inland waterways.

For these purposes, we will allocate more than half a trillion rubles from the federal budget in the next 6 years. This is a record amount of funding for the industry. Moreover, a significant part of the funds is provided within the framework of the new national project of technological leadership "Industrial support for transport mobility".

The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, noted that more than 1,600 civilian vessels will be built in Russia by 2036.
