In 2024, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) made 20,674 flights in various fields, including agriculture and logistics. This was announced by Vladimir Voloshin, Director of the Department of Digital Economy of the Ministry of Economic Development. For comparison, only 31 flights were performed in 2022 and 2023.
According to Voloshin, many obstacles to the use of UAVs have already been removed. The ministry notes a positive trend in the use of drones for cargo delivery and aviation work.
According to statistics, the most successful was the experimental legal regime (EPR) in the Samara region, where drones have performed more than 14,000 flights since November 2023. A significant number of flights were also recorded within the framework of the "Consortium" EPR, which covers 12 regions and includes agro-drones. Since its launch, more than 6,000 sorties have been carried out.
