Caterpillar engine from the USA, everything else is Russian: a unique six-wheeled ZIL-4974 is being sold in Siberia

The seller is asking for five million rubles for the 1996 car

A heavy-duty ZIL-4974 all-terrain vehicle for search and rescue operations, which still has no analogues, has appeared for sale in Russia. The special vehicle was produced in 1996, it is a combination of the chassis of the famous amphibious vehicle with the frame and cab of a regular truck.

The amphibious function was sacrificed, but the filling is unique: a similar design has not been reproduced in Russia until now. The all-terrain vehicle does not have axles; the developers relied on an on-board transmission. Cardans drive three wheels on each side. There is an inter-board differential that equalizes the speed of rotation of the wheels.

The chassis is fully controlled, the first and last pairs of wheels steer. As a result, the bottom is absolutely smooth, and the ground clearance is almost 50 cm. Another important feature of the ZIL-4974 is the American Caterpillar diesel engine instead of the domestic one.

The owner wants to get five million rubles for an unusual all-terrain vehicle. The car is rare, and due to the lack of spare parts, it requires an extraordinary approach to maintenance.
