The United Engine Corporation (UEC) presented a model of the AL-31ST gas turbine engine at an exhibition in Tashkent. The modern power unit is developed and manufactured at the UEC-UMPO enterprise in Ufa.
AL-31ST is in the most demanded power range — 16 MW. AL-31ST is distinguished by high efficiency. The industrial engine has undergone a series of modifications, during which its reliability and environmental friendliness were increased, and resource indicators were improved.
Today, AL-31ST engines operate at oil and gas facilities on the Yamal Peninsula, in Bashkortostan, and are used as part of compressor station units in Yakutia and the Amur Region.
The AL-31ST gas turbine drive can be called one of the best examples of military conversion — it is based on the AL-31F engine, which still lifts combat aircraft into the sky. On the ground, AL-31ST works at Gazprom compressor stations, having worked a total of more than 2 million hours.
The AL-31F engine has become not only the most advanced for its time, but also promising for many years to come. It was installed on the legendary Su-27, subsequent modifications were installed on the wings of the Su-30 family of aircraft, and lifted the newest Su-35S and Su-57 into the air. The AL-31F not only conquered the sky, but also built an excellent "career" on the ground.
