Russia's adversary has "nothing to counter" the Tu-160M intercontinental supersonic strategic missile carrier. This opinion was expressed by military expert Brandon J. Weichert in an article for The National Interest.
In real combat operations, drones, anti-tank weapons, and long-range bombers have proven their effectiveness, capable of striking the enemy without much risk to themselves.
Currently, the Russian Aerospace Forces are actively using Tu-160 and Tu-95 strategic bombers.
The Tu-160 is a powerful missile "truck" that drops missiles, suppressing enemy defenses. Russia has long wanted to upgrade its bombers to the Tu-160M standard.
According to Weichert, Russia may subsequently export the Tu-160M. Moscow has already offered the aircraft to India to strengthen its strategic capabilities.
The Rostec website states that the Tu-160M was created on a completely new technological base using digital technologies. 80% of systems and equipment have been modernized.
The aircraft received new engines — the NK-32 second series. Without refueling, the Tu-160M is capable of flying over 12,000 km. The maximum speed of the missile carrier is over 2,000 km/h, and the combat load is more than 40 tons.
