On April 23, the Moscow Arbitration Court made a decision prohibiting Google Ireland Limited from continuing legal proceedings in California. Russian media reports this.
The decision was an important step for the creditors of the bankrupt Google LLC. The court also imposed a penalty of 1 billion rubles in favor of Russia Today, which will be recovered if Google Ireland Limited continues to litigate in America.
Earlier, Google Ireland appealed to the American court with a request to prohibit the participation of Russian representatives in bankruptcy cases. In response, the Russian court introduced interim measures that restrict the actions of Google Ireland Limited (GIL). Lawyers noted that the disputed transaction with GIL concerns financial issues related to changes in transfer pricing.
According to estimates, the amount of disputed payments exceeds 300 billion rubles. Subsidiary liability covers all creditors' claims, including previously disputed transactions. Despite the decision of the Russian court, GIL continues to litigate in the United States, which causes concern among Russian lawyers.
