A Lada showroom has opened in Dubai, reports the AvtoPotok correspondent in the UAE. The exposition includes the entire model range, including Lada Iskra and Lada Niva Sport.
Sales of cars are planned to begin in the coming days. According to information from showroom employees, the cost of Niva Sport in the UAE will be from 65 thousand dirhams (about 1.5 million rubles), passenger cars - from 80–90 thousand dirhams (approximately 1.8–2 million rubles).
The exhibited cars have stickers "not for sale", and the explanatory table in the Niva's interior is in Russian. These are demonstration copies that have not yet been adapted to the requirements of the Middle Eastern market.
The official status of Lada sales in the UAE still remains uncertain. If cars are supplied officially, compliance with local certification standards will be required, including mandatory warnings on the rear-view mirrors, made in Arabic script.
