The Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) has launched a new bus production workshop. The site was built from scratch, with construction starting in 2023.
Previously, production was spread across six different workshops. Now, all processes will be concentrated under one roof.
The new building includes workshops for welding, painting, and assembly of buses, a welding-preparation-mechanical workshop, as well as bays for diagnostics, adjustment, and delivery of finished products. Unlike the previous production, there are three parallel production lines operating here, which significantly increases efficiency.
With the launch of the new workshop, the Minsk Automobile Plant plans to increase bus production from 1,800 units to 3,000 per year. This figure is comparable to the capacities of leading Russian manufacturers LiAZ and NefAZ.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ stopped production of a hit model to modernize production.
