A geomagnetic storm will cover the Earth from April 25 to April 27. Magnetic disturbances are caused by solar activity. This was reported by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI and ISZF.
After several weeks of instability associated with a coronal hole on the Sun, its influence is beginning to weaken. However, the solar wind continues to move at high speed — about 522–526 km/s. This exceeds the usual rate of 400 km/s.
The Earth's magnetosphere experienced slight fluctuations of up to three points on April 25. The level of solar flares remains moderate. Six class C events were recorded per day, which are not capable of causing serious emissions.
April 26 will be relatively calm. However, geomagnetic activity is expected to increase to four points by April 27. This creates a high risk of a magnetic storm.
Despite the decrease in the number of flares, the current conditions may negatively affect people's well-being. Magnetic storms often cause headaches, fatigue, and disruptions in the cardiovascular system.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the number of magnetic storms would significantly decrease in the next two years.
