Разбудили солнышко: за сутки зарегистрировано три вспышки, включая одну уровня M1.9

Active region of the Sun 4062 became the source of a powerful energy release

On the night of Monday to Tuesday, April 22, the Sun emitted several solar flares, including one powerful one, as reported on the website of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI and ISZF.

As of the end of the day on April 21, 2025, the solar activity index was 5.1 out of 10 possible, which corresponds to a moderate activity level.

The strongest flare of the day was a class M1.9 flare, which occurred at 21:37 Moscow time. The source of this flare was active region number 4062. In addition to it, two class C flares were registered: the first, class C2.1, occurred at 09:42 and was associated with region 4063, the second, class C3.9, peaked at 03:31 and originated in region 4064.

Scientists have warned of possible magnetic storms that may result from these flares. Such phenomena can cause radio communication disruptions, failures in navigation systems, and even trigger the appearance of auroras in mid-latitudes.

Solar flares are powerful bursts of energy and are classified on a scale from A to X depending on their intensity. A class M flare, which includes the recorded M1.9 flare, is characterized by high power and is capable of affecting the geomagnetic environment on Earth. Experts note that the dynamics of solar activity may indicate a possible further increase in activity, which requires additional monitoring.
