The Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft is preparing to undock from the International Space Station. The return of the 72nd expedition crew to Earth is scheduled for April 20, 2025, after the successful completion of all assigned tasks. This was reminded in his Telegram channel by Roscosmos cosmonaut Ivan Vagner.
During their time in orbit, the team has done impressive work. The crew has 42 scientific experiments, seven hours in open space, and hundreds of unique photographs of Earth.
We are returning home with a sense of accomplishment.
The returning crew includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Ivan Vagner, Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin, and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit.
We are looking forward to returning with joy and thinking with sadness about leaving Earth orbit.
The ship will make a ballistic descent, which lasts about three hours. After the descent vehicle separates, the crew will undergo a period of adaptation to terrestrial conditions, and then begin analyzing the results of their work.
After recovery, the cosmonauts will continue to serve in Roscosmos and may once again go on to conquer the vastness of space.
Earlier www1 noted that the crew of the 72nd expedition arrived at the station September 11, 2024, and on April 20, 2025 the undocking of the Soyuz MS-26 manned transport spacecraft from the International Space Station (ISS) and its landing on Earth are planned.
