"Time capsule" for 3 million rubles: a rare 1977 "Niva" in perfect condition is up for sale

The car's mileage is only 6 km

An unusual advertisement has appeared on Avito in the Moscow region: a fully restored 1977 "Niva" with a mileage of only 6 km is estimated at 3 million rubles. This is twice as expensive as the new Lada Niva Sport, which went on sale in April 2025.

Under the hood of the SUV is an original 1.6-liter carburetor engine with a capacity of 75 hp, working in tandem with a four-speed manual gearbox. The all-wheel drive, terracotta body and dark interior have retained their "factory" appearance thanks to professional restoration. The car is registered, has an original PTS and only two owners in 48 years.

The price is due to the collectible value and perfect condition. The 1977 "Niva" is a symbol of the Soviet automotive industry. Specimens with minimal mileage are practically not found. The restoration "to every bolt" has turned the car into a "time capsule", which attracts connoisseurs of retro cars.

The announcement appeared on a symbolic day: April 5, 1977, the production of "Niva" started, and in 2025 - the sale of its sports version. The price contrast between the new and retro versions shows how engineering heritage turns into a cultural artifact.
