Police in India May Be Armed with Kalashnikov AK-203 Assault Rifles

Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited participates in the tender for the supply of weapons

The Russian-Indian joint venture (JV) Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited is participating in a tender to supply Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles to the police of the state of Kerala (southwest India), the Rosoboronexport press service reported.

If Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited wins the bidding, the police will become the second Indian law enforcement agency to purchase AK-203s.

The capacity of the Korwa Ordnance Factory allows equipping the personnel of the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies of India with AK-203 assault rifles, which, thanks to their high adaptability, are suitable for various operators.

AK-203 is a version of the AK-200 chambered for 7.62×39 mm. The weapon is reliable and easy to maintain. The assault rifles are manufactured in India in compliance with Russian technologies on certified equipment.
