The modernized Strela-10M3 anti-aircraft missile system with the code "Gurza" (9A34A) has received a new L-136 sight. The system is capable of detecting the IR signature of jet engine flares of F-16C/D fighters at a distance of 8-10 km and cruise missiles of the R-360M type at about 3 - 5 km.
The main armament of the SAM system remains the 9M333 anti-aircraft guided missiles with three-spectrum infrared-photo-contrast-jamming optoelectronic homing heads.
Thanks to them, the Strela-10M3 remains one of the most effective means of intercepting UAVs for optoelectronic reconnaissance and targeting, as well as heavy copters of the "Baba Yaga" type.
The maximum speed of targets hit on head-on courses is up to 415 m/s, on tail courses - 310 m/s. With timely target designation from the Garmon-1E and Garmon-M radar complex, the Strela-10M3 complex can intercept even the R-360M Neptune-MD multi-purpose tactical missile or SCALP-EG.
