The frigate of the Northern Fleet "Admiral Golovko" of project 22350 and the medium sea tanker "Viazma" conducted joint naval exercises with the Egyptian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
From Egypt, the URO frigate "Al Galala", missile boats "Fuad Zekry" and "Mahmoud Fahmi", and F-16 aircraft participated in the maneuvers.
During the naval part in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the sailors practiced elements of defending ships from high-speed naval assets and anti-aircraft defense training, repelling an attack by enemy aircraft, the role of which was played by F-16 aircraft of the Egyptian Air Force.

"Admiral Golovko" was built according to the project of the Northern Design Bureau (part of the USC) at the "Severnaya Verf" shipyard in St. Petersburg. The frigate is equipped with hypersonic anti-ship missiles "Zircon". In December 2023, it was put into operation and put into service with the Russian Navy.
