The Northern Fleet frigate "Admiral Golovko" of Project 22350 and the medium sea tanker "Viazma" conducted joint naval exercises with the Egyptian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
From Egypt, the URO frigate "Al Galala", missile boats "Fuad Zekry" and "Mahmoud Fahmi", and F-16 aircraft participated in the maneuvers.
During the naval part in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the sailors practiced elements of defending ships from high-speed naval assets and air defense training, repelling attacks by mock enemy aircraft, which were played by F-16 aircraft of the Egyptian Air Force.
About the Project 22350 frigate
"Admiral Golovko" was built according to the project of the Northern Design Bureau (part of USC) at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg. The frigate is equipped with hypersonic anti-ship missiles "Zircon". In December 2023, it was put into operation and commissioned into the Russian Navy.
