The Ka-52E combat reconnaissance and attack helicopter in export modification is designed to destroy armored vehicles, surface and air targets, support landing operations, reconnaissance and target designation. Rosoboronexport named the advantages of the combat vehicle.
The helicopter features a coaxial rotor system, providing high maneuverability and rate of climb. The Ka-52E is equipped with an onboard radar station with an active phased array antenna (APAA), thermal imager, and laser rangefinder with automatic target tracking capability.
Protection against guided missiles is provided to the crew by the "President-S" onboard defense system. Armament includes a 30-mm cannon, Ataka, Vikhr-1, Izdelie 305E LMUR guided missiles, Verba MANPADS, and S-8 unguided rockets.
Ka-52E is the only helicopter in the world with an ejection system. The cockpit is armored and resistant to combat damage.
