The General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Andrey Puchkov, approved the modernization program for the USC "Krasnoye Sormovo" plant during a working visit to the plant. This was reported by the corporation's press service.
The first stage of the program will begin in the second quarter of 2025 and will take several years. The investment volume is determined at 7.5 billion rubles. The plant's modernization includes several main areas: major repairs, updating the fleet of technological equipment, construction of new infrastructure facilities, including a pier and painting facilities.
As a result of the investment project, hundreds of units of modern equipment will be delivered to the plant: gamma flaw detectors, robotic metal cutting lines, laser welding complexes, and other equipment that will significantly increase productivity.
During the four years of the Great Patriotic War, "Krasnoye Sormovo" built about 13 thousand T-34-85 tanks, which is 20% of the total production in the USSR. Since January 1942, the plant began building submarines. The Navy received 27 diesel submarines.
