AvtoVAZ has announced a new recall campaign. The goal of the initiative is to retrofit already produced and in-use Lada cars with the "ERA-GLONASS" emergency response system. This was reported by the company's press service.
Due to the current situation with component supplies, the retrofitting deadlines have been officially extended until December 31, 2027 (EEC Decision No. 95 dated September 27, 2023), so even without the ERA-GLONASS unit, your car fully complies with current legal requirements. When the retrofitting campaign is launched, you will receive an information message (postal notification from AvtoVAZ JSC, mailing through the State Services website (provided you are registered and have entered car data), as well as an invitation from the official Lada dealer from whom you purchased the car.
In September 2021, AvtoVAZ faced a shortage of electronic components, which led to the production of cars without the "ERA-GLONASS" system. However, the plant undertook to install this system as part of recall campaigns.
The first such campaign was announced in July 2023. Then, 79.5 thousand Lada cars manufactured between October 2022 and February 2023 were recalled. The new initiative aims to improve the safety and functionality of cars.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the first Lada Iskra passed inspection and went to dealerships.
