"Sobol NN VIP" is the latest development from AKROSS, a company based in Nizhny Novgorod. The car is designed for use in big business and may also be useful for artists, politicians, and other famous people. This was stated by Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Za Rulem".
Until recently, the range of representative-class armored vehicles was limited to models based on imported minivans or SUVs, such as Volkswagen Multivan, Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Toyota Land Cruiser, and others.
The "Sobol NN" minibus, which AKROSS has been producing serially for several months, was chosen as the basis for the "Sobol NN VIP". This modification is distinguished by the fact that the cabin is divided into two parts: a two-seater cabin and a passenger compartment with three seats. The seats are equipped with electric drive, heating, folding footrests, and armrests.
In the "Sobol NN VIP" cabin, each passenger has individual wireless charging devices, as well as USB and Type-C ports. There is also a Wi-Fi router, a refrigerator, and a retractable table with an electric drive. A TV is installed in the partition.
The climate control system in the car is dual-zone. Cold air comes through the ceiling, and warm air comes from three heaters, including a dry autonomous system.
In the armored version of the car, in addition to the windows, the side parts of the body, roof, floor, engine compartment, battery, fuel tank, and wheel arches were reinforced. The body protection class is Br2, and the glass protection class is Br3.
Due to the increased weight of the sliding door, it was necessary to install additional support rollers. In addition, pneumatic cushions were installed in the rear suspension (the electric compressor is located in the driver's door footrest).
The weight of the car does not exceed 3.5 tons, so a passenger car license is sufficient to drive it.
