Over the past two years, about 30 contract electronics manufacturing facilities have opened in Russia, leading to a 20-30% drop in service costs.

Large vendors with their own factories, such as Aquarius and Yadro, are now operating at less than half capacity, and are forced to transfer some orders to third-party sites. Experts predict that in three years, most companies will completely abandon their own facilities in favor of a contract model.
Competition in the market has intensified due to the increase in the number of players. Lower prices are forcing companies to increase capacity. However, Russian contract manufacturers cannot yet compete with Chinese manufacturers in terms of cost.
The key problem with own factories is the seasonality of demand. CommuniGate Pro reported that 75% of orders occur in the second half of the year, which increases downtime and costs. Contract sites distribute the load evenly, offering more favorable terms. For example, Fplus cooperates with 40 partners for SMT assembly, minimizing costs.
The state plans to support the industry through forward contracts, but the details of this format have not yet been determined. At the same time, some players with low profitability may close in the next three years, which may stabilize prices in the market.
