Vnukovo Prepares for Queues: Passport Control Modernization to be Completed by the End of April

Airport Passengers Warned of Possible Delays Due to New System Installation

Vnukovo International Airport, one of Russia's leading aviation hubs, announces upcoming changes to the passport control system.

Queues are expected from April 1 to 30, 2025, as modernization will be carried out. It is related to the installation of the Sapsan automated passport control system, which aims to improve service quality and reduce waiting times.

As part of the upgrade, 10 modules of the Sapsan system will appear in the international halls of Terminal A - 5 for departures and 5 for arrivals. The system is designed for Russian citizens over 18 years of age with biometric passports of the 75th series and higher. It will check biometric information.

The airport recommends that passengers plan their trips in advance and arrive at the airport with extra time.

Passport control modernization is part of large-scale improvements at Vnukovo. In December 2024, the inspection area was expanded, and in January 2025, a new traffic pattern was introduced in front of the terminal. The changes are aimed at improving passenger comfort and safety.
