Rosatom specialists have successfully completed the overhaul and testing of the turbine unit at the Argyash CHP Plant, the state corporation's press service reported.
The repair was carried out from February: the condition of the main components and mechanisms was checked, pumps were repaired, the rotor was serviced, and identified defects were eliminated. The equipment passed the necessary tests and was put into operation on schedule. As a result of the work performed, the reliability of the station's operation has increased.
Argyash CHP Plant is the main source of industrial steam for NPO Mayak (provides heat to the city of Ozersk and the village of Novogorny). The electrical capacity of the station is 256 MW. Energy is supplied to the wholesale electricity and capacity market.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that NGTU proposed using mini-CHPs to improve the energy supply of small towns.
