The company "Open Mobile Platform" presented a prototype of the desktop version of the domestic OS "Aurora"

The developer has not yet disclosed information about the release date of the product

The company "Open Mobile Platform" (OMP) is developing a desktop version of the domestic OS "Aurora". Currently, "Aurora" is mainly used on mobile devices. In their Telegram channels, developer Alexey Gladkov and OMP itself demonstrated a prototype of the Aurora operating system for computers.

The video shows a laptop with the Aurora operating system installed. According to Gladkov, a prototype of the operating system for computers based on Arm processors was developed as part of the Aurora+ project.

You need to understand that this is not an OS written from scratch for the desktop, but the capabilities of the Aurora OS, which is mature enough to easily transform from the GRM (hybrid workplace), which was shown last year, into a full-fledged desktop OS.
developer Alexey Gladkov

It is difficult to call the OS a ready-made product now, but for office workers who are used to using a browser and documents, the Aurora OS is an "excellent Russian OS with a modern design and a really working ecosystem".

Gladkov believes that new information will appear in the future, but already the project looks "really impressive". Finally, it will be possible to use the Russian desktop OS "with a decent design and convenient functionality".
