The streaming platform "Ivi" plans to enter the Turkish video service market. The ivi application is already available on Google Play. The service catalog includes series for which the online cinema has obtained rights (Now, aTV, Star, Show, Kanal D), as well as broadcasts of local TV channels.
For three months, users can access the streaming system without payment. However, experts predict that the platform will earn more from Russian tourists than from locals. When trying to access the site from an IP address registered in Russia, the message "Not available in your region" appears.
By 2025, the potential volume of the Turkish video service market will be almost 1 billion dollars, and taking into account inflation in the country, the cost of a monthly subscription will exceed 15 dollars.
Smter Group LLC, registered in the Republic of Belarus, received the right to accept subscription payments. However, "Ivi" cannot guarantee access to the service if the user pays for the subscription using Visa Electron cards, some types of MasterCard payment system cards, or Diners Club International.
This may be due to the fact that Visa and MasterCard payment systems can control and suspend transactions. "Ivi" employees refrain from commenting.
