1 апреля метеозависимым может быть не до смеха: на Солнце произошла мощная вспышка

The M-class flare lasted 16 minutes

A flare of the penultimate class M was again recorded on the Sun on the morning of April 1. This was reported by the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IPG).

High solar activity has been observed recently. Over the past few days (from March 28 to March 31), 50 flares occurred on the Sun. Scientists predicted the occurrence of magnetic storms from April 1.

Solar flares are classified according to the power of X-ray radiation and are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and X. When moving to the next letter, the intensity increases by 10 times. Flares are accompanied by emissions of solar plasma, which, when reaching the Earth, can cause magnetic storms.
