The sea minesweeper "Lev Chernavin" of project 12700 "Alexandrite" of the Baltic Fleet conducted a training search for mines. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
In the naval training ranges, the crew successfully practiced setting contact and non-contact trawls, and cleared the shipping lane of training moored and bottom mines, set the day before by a mock enemy.
Then the crew of "Lev Chernavin" destroyed mock-ups of a floating mine with fire from small-caliber artillery, and also practiced a number of elements of radiation, chemical and biological protection.
Ships of this project have the world's largest hull made of monolithic fiberglass, formed by vacuum infusion - its mass is significantly less compared to a metal hull, while strength is significantly increased.
