The flagship of the Pacific Fleet missile cruiser of the Navy (Navy) "Varyag" project 1164 code "Atlant" conducted artillery training firing at sea and coastal targets in the Sea of Japan, the press service of the Pacific Fleet reported.

The crew of the "Varyag" practiced conducting combat operations by a single ship at sea. At the first stage, the ship carried out artillery fire from a 130-mm artillery installation AK-130 at coastal targets on Zheltyukhin Island.

Fire was fired both at visible targets on the coast and at targets hidden by the landscape of the area.

After the first stage of the shooting, electronic countermeasures were set up to protect against a retaliatory strike by the enemy. The next task of the Varyag crew was to neutralize a conditional sea mine - 30-mm six-barreled automatic shipborne AK-630 installations were used.
