50 вспышек зафиксировали на Солнце с 28 по 31 марта этого года

Magnetic storms may occur in early April

50 flares have been recorded on the Sun in less than four days, starting from March 28. Among them, there was one of the highest class X and 11 flares of the middle level M. This was reported by the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of IKI and ISZF.

Activity on the Sun is growing systematically — the number of active centers is increasing simultaneously in both hemispheres, especially in the southern part, where area No. 4048 stands out. Currently, center No. 4048 is located about 60 degrees from the Sun-Earth line, but reduces this angle by 15 degrees every day. By the middle of the week, it will be in the zone of maximum influence.

However, it will be able to gradually "catch" the Earth starting tomorrow, on Tuesday. The risks associated with other solar centers are still noticeably lower, but are also not zero. In general, the situation is characterized as extremely dynamic and can swing in any direction at any moment.

At the moment, the forecast of magnetic storms has not been formed, since the solar wind remains calm, and flares occur at a considerable distance from the Earth. However, from tomorrow, data on center No. 4048 will begin to be taken into account in the models. This may lead to the appearance of the first warnings about possible magnetic storms.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Sun ejected several powerful flares at once on the last day of March.
