The Ministry of Industry and Trade has increased the state subsidy for Gazelle electric vehicles to two million rubles as part of expanded support for the automotive industry. The state program allows the sale of vehicles manufactured in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The discount on electric vehicles in categories N2 and M2, such as "battery" vans and e-Gazelle minibuses, has also increased. Secondly, the discount on preferential leasing for public transport has been increased from 10% to 40%.
These steps were taken due to a serious decline in car sales. In February 2025, demand for buses fell threefold. Commercial electric vehicles were also not popular, and the previous discount of 925 thousand rubles did not cover the price difference with diesel models.
The new discount reduces the cost of the Gazelle e-NN to 5.7 million rubles. But even with such a discount, the electric car is significantly more expensive than fuel-powered counterparts, whose price ranges from 3.8 to 4 million rubles.
